Yesterday, Governor Blunt celebrated the Fourth with his family at the Independence Day Parade in Marshfield, MO. The Governor served as grand marshal of the parade and read the Declaration of Independence in honor of our nation’s independence. Governor Blunt and First Lady Melanie Blunt led the parade with the Governor’s grandfather, Leroy Blunt and son Branch.
Last night, the Governor celebrated America’s traditions of faith and freedom at James River Assembly of God’s "I Love America" celebration in Ozark, the Ozarks' largest Fourth of July fireworks display. He addressed a crowd of thousands and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
"America is great because America is good. It is as true today as when it was first written nearly two hundred years ago. Our nation's commitment to faith, family and freedom is the source of our greatness," Blunt said. "As we celebrate our freedoms with our family and friends, let us also honor and remember in prayer all those men and women of our Armed Forces who are defending our nation and our freedom."
